My boyfriend and I went to a place outside of Siler City, North Carolina that is called "The Devil's Tramping Ground."
It's a natural phenomenon that has been around since before the area was settled; nothing grows inside this circle and if you put something inside of it, the next day it will be pushed to the outside of the circle.
The folklore is that the devil paces the circle every night while he ponders how to destroy the world.
Tests done on the soil have shown a high salt content.
